Project: Harborstone Credit Union Branch Office
Location: Gig Harbor, Washington
Client: Harborstone Credit Union
Scope: New Construction
Completed: 2005

The building is a melding of Harborstone’s functions and interior layout requirements and City of Gig Harbor's strict exterior design standards. It took three years to get through Gig Harbor’s zoning text amendments, moratoriums for water and traffic, and obtain approval of the exterior design.

The site design provides clear member access and secure staff parking. One drive-through lane is multi-functional with ATM and drive–up teller station.

The interior design incorporates the common service features and layouts that are typical for all HCU branches into an atypical building design. CDA collaborated with Barb Dalton of Concepts Commercial Residential Design to create a high volume central space with a sloped ceiling. Natural finished wood lattice over the Teller and Express Services counters with task lights creates a delineation of spaces within the large main room.

Textured and patterned tiles were used in the high traffic member areas with sound absorbing carpet in the quieter individual services areas. Large windows allow in plenty of daylight and wood trim provides a warm friendly atmosphere.
